Whether you want a posh bed for the night, a country house hotel or a groovy themed room, Liverpool has it all The City Region has an impressively broad range of accommodation, from award winning guest houses to upmarket boutique hotels, in varying locations from the city centre itself to the heart of the countryside.
One of the most gorgeous places to stay s Hope Street Hotel, the city’s first boutique hotel which opened five years ago near the Cathedrals and opposite the Philharmonic Hall. It’s located in the city’s perfectly preserved Hope Street Quarter, home to more Georgian buildings than Bath, no less, and combines cool, crisp comfort with top-notch, super-friendly service. Alternatively there is the fabulous four star Hard Days Night Hotel, right by Mathew Street in the city centre. Inspired by The Beatles it is supremely tasteful, understated and luxurious, a perfect temple to the Fab Four, in tact, with a throbbing cocktail bar and great value restaurant attached.
There are numerous high-end chain hotels too such as a Malmaison and Crowne Plaza, down near the Pier Head, with great views across to Wirral Peninsula, a Radisson Blu, just beside the West Tower, plus a Novotel in Liverpool ONE. You could also try Jurys Inn, literally on the doorstep of the Echo Arena and Albert Dock or why not spoil yourself in the Hilton’s palatial Presidential Suite ?
Exciting hotel news for 2011 is the opening 0f Hotel Indigo in the Summer. This will be e new £14 million luxury boutique hotel offering 151 stylish bedrooms as well as a Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill. The base 2 stay boutique concept hotel in the historic Rope Walks area opened lest year. The hotel, located within the UNESCO World Heritage Site, is surrounded by some of the city’s beat restaurants, museums, designer shops and bars. Housed in a former print works dating from the 1860s and having been painstakingly restored and redeveloped to retain its heritage features, it also has a modern and contemporary feel. There are gleaming designer bathrooms, free WiFi in every room, snazzy kitchens plus a 24/7 reception and concierge service. Rooms range from singles to deluxe two-floor suites.
